People have ragged on the Counting Crows for sounding too much like Van Morrison, like that could be considered a bad thing. Back before their first album was released, they actually stood in as the house band at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction when Van decided not to show.
Apparently the Crows have taken the comparisons in stride over the years. Here's a link to a great sounding version of the band covering "Caravan."
